Hi lagun,
I’m having my free coffee in Zumo’s café, the best café all around New Zealand and also the place where we had our last coffee. I asked, as usual, a large cappuccino which was sour at the beginning, like my feeling after you left, but then I added two sugar lumps (which is also a song of Flight of the conchords) and it got sweet, like these last two months. Being in this café, I can’t avoid to think about (or of, I don’t forget your lessons) the dream that we became reality, the trip we will dream about for a long time. I’m proud of us because I can say that all the fingers and toes (another lesson of you) aren’t enough to count the times we said we were in paradise, to count the times we dreamt awake.
Next to me I have the globalgypsy book, I started reading it and I stopped at one page where it was a photo of an Indian kid smiling. On the top was written:
A smile can neither be bought nor sold, yet is the richest gift one can give or receive
If I remember that we had a very good time, we didn’t argue and we laugh a lot, a lot, a lot, I can say I’m the richest man on the world, even having my wallet empty.
Recognizing that my English has improved a lot since I started travelling with you, but knowing that it isn’t good enough to write a proper letter I decided to copy some words, some words which aren’t mine but which could be:
I had difficulty believing most things I had been told by others, in books and by the church. I chose not to believe anything unless it resonated with what I felt. I believe we come into this world as wise simple beings, then molded by family, television, advertising, media and society.
Find who you are by creating and allowing the experiences you need to receive the next answer along the way. Follow your heart. Live your passion. Go and live in other cultures. The world is a safe and nurturing space if you believe it, so it is true. The universe will always lead you towards the next opening experience if you are awake and looking for the signs. They have always been there, maybe you didn’t give it much thought or even less, have a feeling about it. Travel is the best way to practice intuition as you are not distracted by routine and generally you get to see the outcome of your feelings and decisions instantly.
The best adventures I have had are when I have chosen to hitchhike or to travel and eat as locals do. If you stay in luxury hotels and travel in groups you are a tourist. You will have paid to separate yourself from experiencing the culture. Travelers don’t know where they are going, whereas tourists don’t know where they have been. Travelling alone gives the universe a chance to guide you and feel where you are supposed to be or who you are to meet and the messages that are to be shared. It’s the intuitive feeling of being in the right place at the right time, that you’ve been led to specific point on the planet with a chance to discover who you really are and why you are here.
We are beings with incredible power. It is not secret! What we imagine, can become reality. When we have a thought, no matter how wonderful, scary or irrational it is, if we hold that thought we create as a possibility in the universe.

There are many ways to say goodbye, but I think the best is, why not, smiling, smiling with the most popular song in New Zealand and also in the van (even more popular since we bought the speakers). But, do we need to say goodbye? Do we need to say goodbye if we know it is just for a while?
See you. See you soon Sanne.
P.S I:
At the moment, there is just one word which describes perfectly my feelings: lekker. Lekker because you made my coffee really sweet, lekker because the last two months were delicious.
P.S II:
I know you are waiting for the photos, I will upload them soon.
P.S III:
Marked in bold the TWO corrections.

Dear dear dearest Jon, my dear lagun,
ResponderEliminarI attached your letter with just TWO, i repeat just TWO corrections!!! you're amazing! I seriously could not write better English myself than you just did.
I'm going to respond to your letter, because just correcting it is not my way of thanking you, of course ;) I need some time...and a computer ;)
I heard two German people speaking this morning and they told me that they were already travelling for over 6 months in NZ but their English was really really bad, you should be very proud of yourself. You improved a LOT! At least I am as your teacher ;)
Take care & speak to you soon,
MUXU! xxx
and i agree, see you soon.
